Gary Wilson Short Fiction Award

Many thanks to the fine folks at descant for including my story, "Down from the Mountain," in the current edition. I would also like to thank the guest judge for naming this story the winner of the Gary Wilson Short Fiction Award. Can't wait to read the journal in its entirety.

A Fond Recollection

This afternoon I was thinking about how much I enjoyed reading at the Texas Book Festival Lit Crawl in October 2018. Many thanks to the Texas Observer for having provided me the opportunity.

Pleased to announce that a new story set in Waylon County will be published by the Dead Mule School of Southern Literature in 2021. Many thanks to the editors for opting to publish the piece.

A Bit of Sunshine

Although 2020 has not exactly been a banner year in many respects, it has been a good one on the literary front. So far, five of my short stories have reached publication and a sixth one is due to be released this fall. I am truly grateful for this bit of sunshine in an otherwise challenging year.

Yellowstone Flash
