Texas Folklore Society

Never would I have imagined when I was reading all those Texas Folklore Society publications over the years that I would one day gavel the society's meeting adjourned as its new president. Thank you, Paisanos, for this opportunity to help further the mission of collecting, preserving, and sharing the practices and customs of the people of Texas and the Southwest.

Good Days

I recently found this photograph from when I worked in Yellowstone National Park in a box of old postcards. It took a second before I noticed the bull moose in the background. In my Yellowstone days, I wrote many pages, read many books, and had my fair share of adventures.

Temple of Books

For the last several months, I have been volunteering at the Larry McMurtry Literary Center in Archer City, Texas. It has been an absolute joy to be a part of the team that has reopened the doors to McMurtry's temple of books.

Grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the Texas Institute of Letters' banquet in El Paso on April 23rd, where Old Country Fiddle: Stories was recognized as the winner of this year's Jesse H. Jones Award for Best Book of Fiction.
